When accessing the Microsoft Web App Gallery, you may receive an error like:
Web Application Gallery module is unavailable:
– GeneralError:Server was unable to process request. —> The type initializer for ‘WebsitePanel.Providers.Web.WebApplicationGallery’ threw an exception. —> Could not load file or assembly ‘Microsoft.Web.Deployment, Version=7.1.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35’ or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
This error is due to the Web Deploy Toolkit not being loaded on the server. If you’re hosted on a Dedicated Server, Cloud Server or VPS server, the easiest way to install this is to do so by remoting into the server and allowing the Web Platform Installer (WebPI) to install the application by following this link:
