Why can’t I send to a distribution list? How do I modify the permissions to send to a distribution list?
Issue: You cannot send to a distribution list created in SmarterMail.
This issue is occurring because the settings for the distribution list currently only allow the moderator to post to the mailing list.
To correct this issue, you can modify the "Allowed Posters" for the mailing list by doing the following:
Step 1 of 7. Visit https://mail.yourdomain.com and sign-in with the following:
E-mail address: The administrative e-mail address associated with your account.
Password: Enter the password normally used for this account.

Step 2 of 7. Click the Settings tab on the left (the icon that resembles 2 gears).
Step 3 of 7. Click on the plus sign to the left of Mailing Lists to expand the drop-down menu.
Step 4 of 7. Double-click on Mailing Lists. (The one that appears from the drop-down menu).
Step 5 of 7. Right-click the EMRTEAM mailing list, then click Edit.
Step 6 of 7. Next to the property for Allowed Posters, click the drop-down menu to change the allowed posters from Moderator Only to either Subscribers Only or Anyone. If you choose Subscribers Only, you must first subscribe to the mailing list before you can post to it. If you choose Anyone, then anyone can post to the mailing list; however, overexpansive use may eventually, over time, cause spam issues.
Step 7 of 7. Then click Save to save the changes. (Note: You may need to re-enter the password to save changes.)
This should resolve the issue.
