This article assumes that you are already logged into the control panel located at https://control.awesomehosting.com/
1) First we need to determine the hostname or IP address that we should be connecting to with our FTP client. Click on the Websites tab located on the top menu of the control panel. This will bring up the list of websites found under your webspace. Under the section "Web Hosting Access" you’ll see an IP address listed which is the value we’ll be using in our FTP connection settings. Once you have your DNS pointed at our services you’ll also be able to use the hostname "ftp.your-domain.com" to connect to the FTP server where "your-domain.com" will be replaced by your actual domain name.
2). Now that we know the IP address or hostname we need to connect to we need to fill in some additional connection settings. This shared hosting environment was built with a great focus on security so some of the FTP ports and settings may not be what you’ve used on previous settings. Based on the example above these are the settings we would use to connect to this FTP site:
Hostname: ftps://174.136.73.6 or ftps://ftp.demo-account.com
Username: sub39_21
Password: password for the account "sub39_21"
Port: 990
Encryption: Require implicit FTP over TLS
Items to note:
When you prefix the hostname with ftps:// it should automatically select port 990
Please do not confuse FTPS (secure FTP) with SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol) as this will cause you connection issues
If you do not know your current FTP password you can reset the password by clicking on the "FTP Access" link directly to the right of red arrow in the above screen capture and then click on the username in question.
