What is MailChannels?

Applied Innovations has partnered with anti-spam service provider MailChannels to help defend our mail servers from email blacklisting and ensure the highest deliverability of your emails.

Email accounts are often stolen and used for sending spam. We catch these situations quite quickly but once spam is sent from a mail server the damage is already done – the reputation of your mail server is affected and the mail server is often temporarily added to email blacklists, causing a portion of the emails you send out to bounce back undelivered.

MailChannels automatically detects and blocks compromised email accounts and alerts the email user so appropriate action can be taken.  Behavior-based policies and specialized content filters ensure that legitimate mail is sent to the Internet, protecting our mail servers and your domain reputation.

Q. Do I need to do anything to use MailChannels?

A. The short answer is no. We will be rolling out MailChannels to our shared mail servers in stages. No changes to your email account settings are needed. The only exception is if your domain has an SPF record in your DNS, in which case you will need to make a change to your SPF record as described here.

Q. I run my own mail service on my Cloud or Dedicated Server, will I be able to use MailChannels?

A. Please contact us for more details. We are initially implementing this service to mail servers in our Shared Hosting Environment.
