12. How to install DotNetNuke in Windows XP

If you’re running Windows XP OS this information might be useful if you’ve decided to install DotNetNuke application locally on your computer

Since Windows XP uses the new user interface called ‘simple file sharing’ it is necessary to disable this option before setting up the required ASPNET permissions

This tutorial assumes that you have already opened Windows Explorer

1) Click Tools option here

2) Then choose Folder Options

3) Click View tab

Scroll down

4) Uncheck the box here

5) Click Apply to save the changes

That’s it! The selected option has been disabled…let’s right-click the folder and choose its properties

ASP.NET user requires Modify permissions with IIS 5.0

While with IIS 6 NETWORK SERVICE needs Modify permissions
