Symptom
When trying to view the Microsoft Web Application Gallery in Websitepanel you get the following error:
Web Application Gallery module is unavailable: - GeneralError:System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to process request. --> System.TypeInitializationException: The type initializer for 'WebsitePanel.Providers.Web.WebApplicationGallery' threw an exception. --> System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Web.Deployment, Version=7.1.0.0 |
Cause
The error states that your server is missing the Microsoft Web Deploy Tool.
Resolution
You can manually download the Web Deploy installer (x64 or x86) from http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd569059(WS.10).aspx onto your server/VPS and manually run the installer.
Alternatively, you can install the Web Deployment Tool using the Microsoft Web Platform Installer found at http://www.microsoft.com/web/downloads/platform.aspx
