How to install DotNetNuke V4 automatically for hosting at Applied Innovations (www.appliedi.net)
NOTE: Please note prior to following this guide you™ll need to verify that you either have SQL database quota available or have already created a SQL database that you plan to use for DotNetNuke. If you need to purchase additional SQL database quota you can do this directly through the control panel.
NOTE: You™ll also want to make sure your site is set to use ASP.net 2.0. If your site is set to ASP.net 1.1 this version of DotNetNuke will not work and you™ll want to use version 3. If you have any ASP.net 1.1 applications on your site after upgrading your site to ASP.net 2.0 they may no longer work so please be careful.
Log into your control panel account at: https://control.appliedi.net/
After logging into the control panel you™ll be presented with your account main menu, from this menu you™ll want to select the śDomainsť menu item as shown below
After selecting the domains menu item, you™ll be presented with the Domains listing, from which you™ll click on your domain name (in the image below it would be mydomain.com)
This will bring up the domain menu and allow you to start working with your domain. From within this menu select the Application Packs item as shown below

The Application Packs are a series of popular, advanced web applications that are commonly requested or utilized by our hosting partners. By providing these applications packs you™re able to automatically install your application with just a few clicks.
After selecting the Application Packs item, the Application packs menu will come up listing all of the application packs currently available for automated installation. This list of applications will be updated frequently so check it often when looking to install a new application. Below is the current application packs menu:
For this demo we™ll be installing DotNetNuke v4. to install DotNetNuke 4, you™ll want to click on the icon for DotNetNuke 4 as shown below
This will bring up the installation screen
In this example we™ll be installing the application in the root folder so that when you go to www.mydomain.com dotnetnuke will come up. We™ll be creating a new database so in the select database option we selected śNew Databaseť if you™re going to use an existing database you would simply select the database here. Since we™re using a new database we™ll need to give the new database a name, I named mine mydomain_dnn and also had to create a new database user and password. I named my database user the same as my database so that it would be easy to remember.
Once this is all filled in, we™ll click the install button.
NOTE: Please note that installing a complex web application like DotNetNuke and although automated is still time consuming and difficult process that the server is taking over for you, because of this it may take a few minutes for the install to complete.
Once the installation is completed we™ll be presented with a screen like below confirming that the application files have been installed:
The application has now been installed on your website and you have one last step to perform. Access your website in a web browser and the DotNetNuke installer will complete the installation process, upon completion you should see a page like below:
As long as no errors displayed your DotNetNuke portal is now installed and ready for use.
