Please note: You need to configure windows firewall before you turn it on. Failure to do so will result in not being able to connect to the server via remote desktop.

Open Windows Firewall, in the exceptions tab make sure Remote Desktop is checked.

Add ports:

80   TCP  for http requests

21   TCP   for ftp requests

53   TCP  for dns requests

53   UDP  for dns requests

(May have to open a port > 1023 UDP if dns still fails)

Turn Firewall on

If any other programs are using special ports (smartermail etc) you will also have to set that up.
